Yup, I was driving up Route 140 in Franklin with the girlfriend's 11 year old daughter, when this psychopath from RI decided to first cut me off and try driving me into oncoming traffic, then as I was passing her after getting in the far right lane, made a sharp right turn into the side of my truck. Police were called and unfortunately she wasn't cited for anything. Insurance company wants to look at my truck Tuesday before I go to work.

So I'm stuck borrowing another truck for next weekend's trip to Normandy Farms, meanwhile my 02 GMC Sierra 1500 with 77500 miles on it is somewhat crippled (bashed in from the gas cap back to the bumper on the drivers side, possibly bent axle, bent rim, paint cracked and messed up)

Luckily I didn't have the 19BH with me, just thinking of what would have happened if she went for the whole combo. Leaves a very large black pit in my stomache.

With that, no one was hurt physically, and I will say this, I'll buy another one of these trucks after seeing what damage was done and I still walked away unscathed. ls It was still drivable with the damage done.

Only my wallet got seriously damaged. So far the appraisal is for $2250 to repair the truck, the tire is off to the tire shop I use to see if the tire is salvageable. The rim is OK according to them, but they need to check the sidewall to see if there is any major damage to the belts. Definately out of balance, so once they determine if the tire is OK, then it's rebalance and back on the truck. The axle did shift, so I need to have that straitened out on a 4 wheel alignment machine. The bed is either repair the panel, or call for more $$$ from the insurance for a new bed.

Luckily I have the 4×4 to pull the trailer with, leaving my Sierra at home for the weekend.

Update…

Insurance company sent out 2 checks so far, one minus the deductable, then today I got my deductable because they determined after waiting so long that I wasn't at fault (which I told them in the first place)

In the meantime I've had the tire checked out, the rim checked out, the rear end checked for alignment to the front of the truck, and one dent popped out by the body shop (the guy kept hitting it from inside with his hand and then we heard a loud "pop" and the panel was back to normal)

So far mechanically it's fine but Monday the 23rd it goes in for the rest of the body work. Hopefully I'll have it back before Labor Day weekend.
