Since there are no topics in this thread I thought I would start it off. As I have mentioned in a previous post I will be going on my first camping adventure with my E14RB. This in essence will be my very first travel trailer adventure ever. Never done it before.

I love the east coast and am from Nova Scotia originally but have lived in Ontario since the mid '50′s. I have visited the New England States on numerous occasions … mostly just passing through with a day or two stay once in awhile. I particularly love Maine with it's rugged coastline and rustic fishing villages and majestic lighthouses.

I have booked a couple of campgrounds. The first is in the north-east near the Canadian border. The second is near Acadia National Park. I will be spending a total of 3-4 weeks in Maine. My plans include taking day trips to explore the surrounding areas and take pictures. One of my plans includes visiting some of the covered bridges around Maine as well as some of the lighthouses. They all offer wonderful photo opportunities.

I will chronicle my trip on my PBASE web site with a BLOG and photos. I will post the link in this thread once I get started. If anyone else from the Sportsmen Classic/Spree Escape Owners Club happens to be in the area give me a shout and we can get together if you like.

I am leaving May 17th … arriving in Maine on May 20th and spending 3-4 weeks exploring Maine before heading back home.

Stay tuned …

That sounds like a fantastic trip.  I got diverted to Bangor on a flight to Halifax and that's the closest I have been to Maine.  Oh and I loved my trip to Nova Scotia.  I have a friend "on the island" near Sydney.

Hey sandermr: I agree … Nova Scotia is another beautiful area to visit. Very similar in a lot of ways to Maine with the fishing villages and lighthouses. "The Island" you are referring to is Cape Breton.

Halifax is a great city to visit with an interesting blend of new and modern architecture incorporated into the old and historic downtown area. I usually return to the area every 3-4 years to visit family.

I'll probably be heading back there in 2013 when I do my Newfoundland Adventure.

Sandermr,   You will absolutely love Acadia NP.  I visited there as a teenager with my family.  I am jealous, as I am a lighthouse nut and would love to travel up and down the east coast just visiting lighthouses.  I was given a beautiful calendar this yr at Christmas with the lighthouses of Maine.  I also still remember wading into one of those fishing village harbors with crystal clear cold water to pick up sandollars with my toes.  It was awsome.  Enjoy your adventure.  Looking forward to your blog and the pics.  Laugh   Carol

Hi Carol:

I have been to Acadia NP twice in the past … just a quick drive thru however. This time I want to spend some time exploring and of course getting some great pictures. Being from Nova Scotia I am also fascinated with lighthouses … the most famous of course being Peggy's Cove.

I do have some pictures posted from previous trips down east if anyone wants to take a peek. Please feel free to make any comments as well.

Karsten,

We are heading to Niagara falls May 20th for the weekend. Staying at the KOA

2011 Sportsmen Classic 19 SBT. 2011 Ram 1500. Yes it has the hemi, no more towing issues for us. I wonder if Lewis and Clark had a Sportsmen classic and what they towed with.
