Hello everyone.

I've been shopping Classics since we saw them at the Portland RV show. But with a very few Northwest dealers, I don't see any price competition. I have researched dealerships in the midwest (Veurincks etc) and I see a real price difference between what I looked at here and what they are selling them 3000 miles away. Example: a $8000 trailer in Minnesota….the same model here in Oregon is about $10,000 – $11,000. Exactly the same thing/same features. Is the shipping causing the price difference? Seems like even the "base price" starts higher here than in the midwest. Are the NW dealers price gouging because the rigs are so scarce here? Anyone else? Input? Anyone buy in the NW from Apache or elsewhere? Did you swing a deal? (we are looking before we leap) THANKS!

Shipping and features included. I found when I was shopping for mine, the prices closer to Indiana were less, but one other thing was some features were not included in the lower price, like the front window. For the extra $1000, I opted for the full package from a dealer only 2 hours away versus a 14 hour trip one way to the dealer in Ohio.

We purchased ours at Apache on 82nd in Portland. I was very frustrated with the price as I came to the same conclusion as you Will.Confused I got them to through in some after market stuff and it was an out the door price but I am sure I paid 1-2K more than others paid back east. (I got the 14RB loaded with every option) I shopped for weeks including out of state and unless I was prepared to drive a couple of days, that was the price I would have to pay. The reason I did was that I could not find a new unit anywhere that was the quality , size and weight,  and as fully featured as the KZ. Used units I found were too much of a compromise on one of these issues (Usually the weight) or it was trashed. Pop ups were the same or more for less features and security and they also were too heavy except for the small stripped down units. I did purchase a tent trailer at Apache 15 years ago and they were good to deal with on service and after the sale issues etc. Seems good so far now as well. This is our "retirement camper" and we are very pleased with the 14RB and the dealership. We did pay too much but we are enjoying the KZ and we're not looking back. Cool

If I had this to do over, again, I would not purchase from a Minnesota dealer.  I would contact and order through http://www.VacationlandRV.com in Illinois and hopefully have them ship directly from the KZ-RV Indiana factory or their location to a location along a major transport route, but within reasonable driving distance for my pickup……perhaps, a local business (a car dealer, RV dealer??).  Vacationland RV seems to have had the most reasonable pricing in the USA.  I would expect freight charges to be about $600 to Minnesota……$1,200 to Oregon.

I drove up from Dallas to purchase my 14RK from Vacationland RV (Big Rock, IL) and had a good experience with them. The trailer was clean and ready to go.  At the time (Oct. 2009) the price was 2k less than a comparably equipped model here. Since then the price at Vacationland has gone up about 20% but still relatively reasonable…..

I first saw the 14RK at the Seattle RV show in February at their advertised price of $8995, that's w/o AC and with the front window.  After buying the TT, I didn't realize until later that the East coast prices were lower, so I just figured it had to do with shipping.  At least, that's how I'm looking at it.  One of the reasons, why I chose this dealership is because they're only 3 miles away from my house, too, they actually towed the TT to my house, since I didn't have a TV yet.
