One more planned trip this month & our 1st season with the 16bh will be completed. We've had a blast this year. We have been able to meet several nice campers & campground owners, though we are still waiting to see another Sportsmen Classic owner on the road or in a park.

Getting ready to winterize the KZ has got me to thinking about how long we will be able to keep it. Assuming we keep up with all the required maintenance, how long should the KZ keep going?

Considering that the construction of our Sportsman trailers is virtually the same as that of the "CANNED HAMS" of olden days, I would tend to think that with proper care , we should get many many enjoyable years from them. You see many of the old trailers still for sale and many of those are still in very servicable condition.

I plan on putting my 16 BH under one of those cheap "party tents" that you buy at Menards or the like , so the heavy snows dont ruin the somewhat flimsy looking roof on the trailer. I also touched up any rusted areas on the frame with rustoleum and undercoating, removed the tires and put them in my basement and winterized the water system. I will leave the battery hooked up and the trailer plugged in over the winter as we plan on sleeping in it from time to time cause its just so darned much fun.

I'm hoping that this trailer lasts me a very long time. Mitch.

Nice thing about living where I do… I plan on using my 16BH throughout the winter.  Actually it's usually a good time to camp in TX – can actually enjoy a campfire.

OK, rub it in sandersmr. Smile

Thanks for the replies. I have noticed that some people buy a diff TT every 5-6 years & just wondered why. I plan on keeping ours a long time & hope it lasts.
