Just got back from lake camping… trip #3 with the new 14RB!

Question, I'm having a hard time leveling my 14RB side to side. Usually the left side is lowest and I have to raise it several inches. Problem is the back jack gets so hard to crank that it's really hard to get level. Maybe it's because mine only has the two rear jacks?? Would it be easier to crank if I installed front leveling jacks too and cranked each jack alternately until level?

Also, I discovered I do need to get some Leveling Blocks before my next trip. Wasn't sure why I needed them before because I always just leveled the trailer by jacking directly on the pavement. But after the trailer set on hot asphalt all day my jack sunk about 1-1/2″ into the ground! I had to lower the trailer and find a rock to serve as a temporary leveling block. Guess I should of listened to you all!

Hi Julie,

Pic was taken on Table Rock Lake in the Ozark Mountains near Missouri/Arkansas border. We really liked it there!

Okay, I'm definitely going shopping for two more jacks this week. Yeah they should of made the blinds of vinyl instead of aluminum… Would of been much quieter. Raising the blinds to close the window in the middle of the night sounds like someone tripping over a pile of aluminum cans! Wink

Thanks,

Mark

First of all those are not leveling jacks they are stablizing jacks only. You are suppose to level side to side by blocks under your tires..then level by tongue jack then put down rear stabilizing jacks .I bought two aluminum car jacks to put under front corners from harbour freight for 35 dollars yesterday will try them out this weekend. You can purchase leveling blcks made out of plastic at campers world or just use varios sizes of wood correct me if im wrong but thats how I do it.happy camping chris

aleking is correct…the jacks that come on our trailers are for stabliization after we get our trailers level with wood planks under tires or plastic lynx type stackable tiles…if you use your jacks to level a trailer it will tweak the frame. I bought those aluminum stacker jacks  http://www.campingworld.com/sh…..jacks/8031

at walmart cheaper than camping world for the front of my 14RK..they work fine.

Speaking of leveling…time before last when I went camping I didnt read my level apparently well enough and my ac drip was comming into the camper, and before I  noticed it I had a mess..I just hope it didnt warp any of the wood…so make sure you at least get the ac side up level enough so the condensation from the unit doesnt drip inside instead of down the outside of the trailer…

Thanks for the help everyone! It's all starting to make sense now. I don't think my dealer covered the fine points of leveling during orientation (…or I was daydreaming about camping in my new TT at the time). Anyhow I'm getting two more jacks and some leveling blocks and trying again this weekend!

Kim, the same happened to me in our 14RK.  I had to remove the bottom plywood of the wardrobe, to dry out the wood before mildew set in.  When I lifted the plywood, I discovered lots of wood chips and other debris from the mfg. process.  Being the perfectionist that I am, I immediately vacuumed the stuff up.  I have left the bottom plywood of wardrobe loose, should I have to get into that area again.  The TT 30 amp power cord (accessed from outside) is stored under the wardrobe, as well as the wiring coming out of the converter and the wheelwell.
