I sort of have, but it's been at least 2 years since I was there. I don't know how much this will help but hope some of this helps.

I landed there in mid May and was told that the camping parts of the park would not open until June. I wound up staying at a private campground called the Rocky Mtn Getaway (off Fall River Rd / 34) park right next to the main park. The roads leading into the park were open but not all the way through as most of it was still closed off. It was limited but I managed to see enough of the park to avoid my trip being a complete loss. If you bring dogs make sure you keep em on short leashes because there are Elk and Moose all over the place. My beagle is a little too fearless for her own good and I had to stifle her baying more than once to save her lil' butt!

The park is gorgeous (as is most of the countryside of CO) and there was never a dull moment while I was there. Go go go because you won't regret it at all!

We were their this summer. There are 3 parks on the east side and 1 on the west side. They have great night programs. We were told that Glaicer Basin would be closed next summer for road const. to Bear Lake. Be sure to drive over to the west side (our favorite side)and go to Grand Lake. Just past Grand Lake is a Fed Park with hook ups Elect and water. We always stay in Timbercreek camp ground on the west side. No res. Moraine on the east side is great to. Aspen Glen is a little crowded. Ifr your in to hiking there are several thaa go from Bear Lake. Some short and some day hikes.

If you go over to the west side stop at the never summer ranch old tourist ranch it is by trimbercreek campgroung.  We always spend 1-2 days in Grand Lake doing the shops. One day in Estes Pake.

Have FUN !!!

I have not camped in the park (stayed at Boyd Lake SP instead) but I have been inside the park a couple of times.  It's pretty, but I have to say that IMO many similar mountainous parts of Colorado are just as pretty… and no entry fee.  Smile  In fact I would venture to say that my favorite drive in CO would be from Durango to Ridgeway, then west to Norwood, then backtracking through Telluride and to Cortez.
