We just got back from our second trip in our 16bh and thought I'd give my two cents on the trailer and the add ons we had put on the trailer.

First off, we went to the Mohican area of Ohio where we have tent camped in the past.  We love the beauty of the area and the activities it offers.  When we left Akron it was 95* and the entire drive down my only thought was whether or not the A/C would keep us cool.  We arrived at the campground and it was 94* and very humid.  The electric post was at the front of the site and I realized my electric cable would not be long enough.  I turned the Fantastic Fan on high and we left for another campground store that had a better selection of camping supplies.  After spending $68 on another 30 amp cord we had dinner and played mini golf and rode some go carts.  When we got back to the trailer it was noticeably cooler thanks to the Fantastic Fan.  I plugged in and turned the A/C on high.  It took two hours to cool but it was very nice.  I had to turn down the A/C about 1:00 AM.  We left Saturday morning for some kayaking and other activities and prior to leaving, I turned the A/C back to high.  When we returned to the trailer it was 90* outside and again the trailer was too cool.  I had to turn the A/C down again.  I kept the Fantastic Fan on high the entire time.  I don't know if the A/C alone would have done the job.  I don't have any proof to this but I do believe that the Fantastic Fan greatly assisted in the cooling down of the trailer.  My initial thought is that the fan is worth it's weight in gold.

We had city water and 30 amp electric hookups so I didn't use the freshwater tank but my tank monitoring system worked on the black and grey water.  It did not give me a 3/4 or 1/2 reading but only let me know when the tanks were full.  Once the two tanks were showing full I added a gallon or so of water until I saw water begin to rise in the bottom of the shower on the grey tank and I could see black water in the black tank.  I'm thinking that maybe because the tanks are so small it wouldn't give me the 1/2 or 3/4 readings.  I'm just guessing on this though.  My dealer asked me to let them know how it worked because they have not put on a monitoring system on any other classics yet.

The refrigerator and hot water tank operated just fine.  I'm thinking of adding a Maxairre vent cover so I can run the Fantastic Fan while we are traveling.

One issue I had on our first trip was that the water pump kept recycling every thirty seconds.  Since we had city water hookup this time I didn't check to see if this was corrected.  I think maybe I had a bad backflow valve causing a leak in the pressure, but I'll have to check it out on my next trip.

All in all this was a great trip and "Fred", as my daughter named our trailer, performed as well as I had hoped.

Jason, operating the Fantastic fan at the same time as the a/c is, to my way of thinking, like operating the a/c with a window open.  Please explain further.

John,

The vent only needs to be open  a small amount to operate the Fantastic Fan.  The
A/C alone didn't seem to have enough fan power to blow the cool air around inside the trailer.  Although not as cool as the A/C the Fantastic Fan does cool the air significantly and probably helped move the cool air around the cabin.

Again, I have no proof but it's just my opinion.

Mohican is a great park – noticed it has been mostly full for the past several weekends I was thinking of going.  The last time we went in a teardrop we got the last available site right next to the bathroom – busy place!

I agree with you about the fantastic fan.  We didn't run ours with the AC, but we ran it to cool the trailer down before cranking the AC on.  The air didn't have to work as hard to cool down, and it was very comfortable.  We did end up putting a small fan near the AC though to throw the cool air a little further.  Otherwise it seemed to be cool in one part of the trailer while the rest was still warm.

What kind of tank monitoring system did you have installed – was something we thought about doing as well…

Glad to hear you had a good time!

Jason, I too am glad you are having a good time with your TT.

In our TT the a/c blows cool air toward the rear of the trailer.  We use a 12 vdc fan from NAPA to draw cool air from the rear, blowing it toward the front…..works good for us.

Today, we are recovering from an exhausting local Arabian horse show that took place both Saturday and Sunday.  We sure like bringing the TT to the horse shows.  Donna has a place to rest up and change into her riding garb, also.

We also have a fantastic fan.  We run ours without opening the vent and it runs just fine.  We leave it on low and it works just great.  We also got back from a week out with the temps in the high 90's in Nashville.  The AC did just fine.  We also have a small fan we keep on the floor that we run also.  Stay very comfortable.
