We have had the 19BH home for a week now and are preparing for our first trip in a few days.  Just finished sanitizing the water tanks, etc.  We will only be gone 3 days, but we are newbies so it is taking some extra time.  We found a couple issues so far and  I'm sure our dealer will take care of them but I wanted to canvas members if they have encountered any similar.

The first involves the wheel well under the sink area.  There is a gap between the area where the wheel well attaches to the outside frame.  Water has not entered the area because silicone has been applied from the outside surface.  See picture.

The second involves the bathtub fixture.  The spigot is too short, i.e., doesn't protrude far enough into the tub.  So when the fixture is turned on, water accumulates on the ledge of the tub and then travels along the tub and down to the floor.  See pic

The third issue is a question.  Is the bottom portion of the molding around the tub supposed to be caulked?  Mine is not.  See pic

After our outing, we may have a few more items for the dealer repair list.  Hopefully not.  But I am curios if any of you have had similar experiences.

For what it's worth, the tub in my 14RB was caulked around the tub, and I've never noticed any large gaps around the wheel wells.  I can't remember ever actually using the bathtub spigot (instead of the shower wand) so I can't really say if I have that same issue or not.  It does look identical to how much is set up though.  I did put in a splash guard/water diverter to avoid water tracking down the top edge of the tub, however (pic here).  Hope that helps.

Familiar issues with the tub, what I plan on doing to mine is place a plastic trim edge on the top of the tub, forcing the water to have to pool or run into the tub, not over the edge onto the floor.

As for the gap, I had a similar one, filled it with Great Stuff expansion foam, just check to make sure it doesn't blow out the silicone on the side.

From what I'm seeing after owning the 19BH for almost 2 years, there are issues, minor ones, and major ones. but each can be overcome and for the price, you really can't beat it. I've often thought about upgrading, but when I think about the fact that the 19BH I own is customized to how I want it, and performs rather well for what I put it through, I just can not justify trading it in or selling it.

Besides, the next closest in price similar unit from a different manufacturer is 5K higher than what I paid originally (just under 10K)

16bh here, but I had the same problem with the tub surround. I caulked all around & also did the wall seams & corners just to be safe.

I caulked the wall seams as well.  But I don't think you want to caulk around the tub (where you have highlighted in Red).  If it is like a home tub there is a lip behind that moulding that the wall panel *should* overlap.  It is there to prevent water from seeping behind and if you caulk the gap you could trap water behind it.

Thanks to all for sharing their info and advice.  We're going on the maiden voyage on Thursday for a few days.  Will contact dealer afterwards.

Here's an update regarding my previously posted issues.  Took my RV in for warranty repairs and pleased with the results.  T

The wheel well gaps were filled and sealed in with Kwik Foam.  Our service consultant was a former RV factory worker in Indiana and previously worked for several of the major named companies.  He believed our unit should not have passed QC inspection at the factory with those gaps.

KZ sent our dealer a new tub faucett fixture.  It looks like the same one that was originally in the unit but when turned on, the water comes out at a different angle – arcs more and thus goes in the tub instead of splashing on the edge of the tub.  Poor explaination, I know – but hope you get the picture.

Replaced the entire Norcold refrigerator because it was not cooling.

Sealed around kitchen sink with silicone.

Overall I'm very pleased with our dealer and their service.  I do like our RV but the wheel well gaps and non functioning refrigerator should have been caught at the factory level.
