Thought I'd give an update on our decision to try Idustrial Velcro rather than screws or toggle bolts for many of the Mods on our 14B. So far we have installed paper towel, paper plate, and coffee filter dispensers, a hook on the bathroom wall , and 2 towel racks using the Industrial Velcro. We used a liberal amount of the stuff and waited 48 hours before testing it's strength . Success!  It secured all of the items very tightly against the application surfaces and it looks very sanitary as well. The true test will be this summer when the temp in the 14RB get up there. The glue used is the big difference in the two types of velcro. Outside of being a much stronger adhesive, the adhesive used in th I.V. is not affected as much by extreme temps.

Joe, I decided also to use industrial velcro for most of my applications as well in the RK..I have a real adversion to drill holes into the trailer paneling. Im also going to check out those adheavsive hooks by 3M I think where you can pull and remove, not sure how the heat will affect those.

I also hate to screw things into the walls, mostly because I'm not sure how thick they really are and if it would be strong enough.  I'm also using the 3M hook/loop stuff.  So far I only used it on the TP holder and it fell after a few days.  So I Crazy Glued the part that sticks to the TP holder (which still had bits of the initial sticky stuff that didn't even last 24 hours) and I assume that's why it didn't stick.  That was yesterday.  I'll keep you posted on how long it holds up ;)

Yes,

It's all about the adhesive used on these types of fasteners. As I said, the main difference in the Industrial Velcro is simply the much stronger and temperature tolerant adhesive. We even used it at work a couple years ago to put a few  shelves up. Still holding strong supporting 34-40 lbs. or so. The 3m brand is good but uses a similar adhesive as the original standardl Velcro. The only double sided tape  (non hook and loop) I have found always became brittle with time in anything other than close to room temp. It also wasn't meant for supporting much weight or surviving much flexing. I sure hope the I.V. holds up well under the high temps. this summer. I could just leave the ac on I guess..SurprisedSurprised  NOT!

It should hold up fine in temps. up to 135 degrees  acccording to specs. I'll let you know..Wink
