I am looking into replacing the existing surface mount tie downs with recessed tie downs. They are available as sets of 4 or 6 in the $40-60 dollar range. They require drilling a 2 to 2-1/2  inch hole as well as bolt holes. included is a rectangular backing plate made of plate steel. This prevents the tie down being pulled out with the bolts. They are rated at 5000 lbs load.

How thick is the plywood flooring on the Sportsmen Classics? I remember hearing that it is an inch thick, i want to be sure.

Also there is a cloth cover protecting the bottom of the trailer. What is the best way to remove and restore this cover for working underneath?

Thanks for your input,

Welcome, Jack to our forum.  I believe the floor is on inch plywood.  It sure doesn't flex when my 300 lb. body walks around on it.  Though, I would not take my word for it.  In the past when I have had a technical question, I have called Customer Service at 1-866-472-5460.
