I picked up the new unit this past week, got it home and jumped right in on the great ideas in the forum. I added the wire shelving in the wardrobe, the 3-drawer storage for untensils and started on the perm bed/dinette mod. I picked up a 4″ memory foam topper on rollback from the local blue box for under $100. I went with the full size which is 2″ too short in width which I can live with, but the length ended up almost 8″ short! Rather than wrestle with getting that thing back in the box and taking it back for a queen, I found a full size body pillow that fit perfectly in the 'gap' and makes a great headboard. The topper is still long enough to sleep comfortably on. I also found a 30″ TV tray type table, 30″ long which makes a great surface for computer work, extra, counter space and eating. Planning to head out in a couple days to test it all!

One question: does anyone have a preference on coupler locks? I realize they're only for keeping the honest honest, but want to deter as much as possible. I've seen you-tube videos of most of the popular brands being picked in under 30 secs, so wanted to get input on other's experience.

Thanks in advance!

Best suggestion I can give is find a combination (for both the hitch receiver and the coupler) that is keyed the same — saves a lot of frustration trying to keep yet another key straight :)  You're completely right that anything can be picked so IMHO it's really just a visual deterrent.

I was recently warned by a friend that the new scam is town is thieves stealing the batteries from trailers for the return deposit money.  I've been wondering if it's even possible to TRULY secure batteries?!?

I suppose buying the ridiculously expensive sealed Optima battery and moving it inside the unit into the water heater storage space would work. Out of sight out of mind! I also did a little research on locks and seems the 5000 series American padlock is the hardest to pick. Has added security pins and takes considerably longer to pick. I'm not a fear monger, nor am I overly paranoid, but I do want to protect the investment! Here is the reality, unfortunately:
