Just got back from our first trip out with our new 14RK.  We traded in the teardrop trailer for this one, and we're happy with the decision.  The teardrop was a great little trailer, but it just didn't quite fit how we wanted to camp.  The KZ has all kinds of little things that make camping just that much more enjoyable.  Things like being able to stand up in the trailer for one!  We also like the fact that everything is in place, and you don't have to unload the trailer to get inside.

We camped at Mosquito Lake State Park just north of the Warren/Youngstown area – great park with a nice, wooded campground, very dog friendly, and plenty of activities for families.  We happened to see another Classic in the same loop that we were in, but by the time we went to stop by in the morning the owners had already hitched up.  If that was you, sorry we missed ya!

Looking forward to many more trips with the KZ, and thanks to everyone on the forum for all the info – we've been lurkers here for a little while… :)

Welcome Doug.  It's nice having another NE Ohio owner on the forum.  I have fond memories of water-skiing on Mosquito lake along with Lake Berlin and Lake Milton in my teen years.

My daughter (8) and I are going to Mohican this coming weekend.  One of Ohio's greatest treasures.

Congratulations on your new trailer and when you get a chance post some pictures.

Welcome, Doug

You selected a great TT…..we sure like our 14RK.  What options did you get?

Thanks Jason.  I see you are from Akron – we are just south of Akron right near the Portage Lakes area.  Mohican is also a great park – might have gone there this weekend, but it was pretty well booked up.  And being so full, we didn't want too many onlookers as we tried to back the TT into the campsite for the first time.  Although that part went better than we anticipated. :)

Ours came with the 2way fridge, AC and we had a fantastic fan installed as well.  No furnace, but a small heater should do the trick when it gets chilly.  As for our own personally added options, the sky's the limit! :)  I'll have to post some more once we do a few more things.  I saw your list in another thread and was inspired! :)

Here's a photo of the 14RK on it's first camping trip.  Please pardon the towels…

Doug, installing a Fantastic Fan I think is a real worth while option.

Our 14RK came with AC, std. toilet (no shower), awning, spare tire, std. electric refer……all electric, no gas.  Works for us fine, so far.  We too, plan on an electric heater, as needed.

TIP:  I level our TT front to rear, but leave the AC-side a bit lower than the entry door-side, so AC condensation water flows and drips to the outside of TT, rather than to the inside.  As I understand from readings, important to level all-electric refrigerator left to right, not front to back.
