Hey every one.  I pick up my new (2010) 16bh tomorrow. I just finished a 3 week trip from Nw Washington to California and back with my 2003 Colemman Cheyenne.  My wife and I traveled with our 3 1/2 year old twins and I became very tired of "popping up".

We visited my inlaws for about a week while in Ca and they were shopping for a small TT. Looking at their brosures  we became very interested in the r-pod and nearly purchased one in French camp. We stopped by Apache RV in Portland and saw the Sportsman Classic.

The r-pods without the slide outs felt very cramped compaired to th Sportsman. I found nothing online that could come near the bang for the buck that the Sportsman has and be light enough to still Use my '07 Grand Caravan as a tow vehicle.

I look forward to chatting with you all!

Welcome and Congrats Chuck! I hope you have as much fun in the 16 as you did in your Pop up! I had a pop up and traveled all over the US with it..but I sure am glad to have hard sides around me now so I dont have to worry about bears or rainstorms! Feel free to post some pictures of your new rig, we would love to see it!

Welcome!  We also have the 16BH and have yet to take it out!  It's sitting in the driveway, all clean and loaded – waiting for some nice weather :)  We have a 3 year old DD and she's pumped to go camping :)  We also considered the R-pod but found the 16BH so much more spacious, even compared to the one with the slide-out!

Welcome to the forum. Let us know how your delivery went from the dealer, and as Teaspoon put it, feel free to post pictures. If you need to know how to do it, there are several posts about how to do it, if you can't figure it out, feel free to PM me.

Good luck and welcome

Thanks for the warm reception!

I'll post a pick when I get a chance. I spent the day (and will several more) fixing/preparing to  sell my coleman.  I had the lug nuts come loose and shear off the studs on the first day of my trip a month ago.  The trailer handled pretty well on one tire and one brake drum (if you hear a helicopter type sound while towing pull over and check the lug nut torque, heck check them before leaving every camp site). When the tire/wheel left the trailer it did a bit of damage but now one can hardly tell.

I already have some ideas for storage/ shower improvements, I'll share them as I go.

Thanks again, Chuck.

I just listed my old trailer and took a shot of my new one while the camera was out. I don' tow with the old merc but i did occasionally with an old aladdin I once owned. My wife was out and about with the minivan and I needed to move trailers around. I'm anxious to start moding and that first campout in a couple of weeks!

Hey Chuck…great old vintage car!! Thanks for posting a pic of your Sportsmen, sorry about the text being cut off its happened to everyone, and we are not sure why. Some posts even with pictures doesnt do it then others do..since we have no moderators here were kinda stuck for answers as to why.But we are considering making another forum/website for us owners so that things like this hopefully wont happen.Keep us posted on the campouts! and keep posting pics :)
