I should introduce myself … as I have asked a few questions already.  I am ready to buy, just waiting for the sale of my PUP.  I think it should get sold this weekend.  I am in Canada, border city… so I am looking to buy in either Canada or US.  I am mostly interested in 19BH, with all the upgrades the 2011 model has including:  higher tire clearance and increase to 14″, 8000BTU air, more insulation, upgraded windows … wanting the stero, re-inforced bumper for bike rack … and considering the sway bars.  Also considering the rubber underneath spray.

Want to order to receive around Feb/March to insure the 180 warranty will be available when I actually use it. (warranty should be 6months at least)

But .. as you can see, I know what I want and like this site for research and opinions.

Hello!

finplan, tell us  more.  I wasn't aware of the options that you name above, for the 2011 models.

I actually contacted a dealer in Michigan and asked specific questions from this forum…

Tire Clearance-  There was issues with the 13inch 2010 model than was rubbing in the wheel well… apparently the 2011 model had an increase to 14inch with higher clearance

Air Conditioner-  was 5000BTU in the 2010, but there were bad condensation issues, fuse blowouts and general 'not enough juice' issues (but only in extreme heated areas like Texas)… 2011 model is upgraded to 8000BTU and option for the roof air 13,500 BTU

Windows-  the new model have upgraded windows to full slides allowing more air flow. 2010 models only opened about an inch

Insulation-  apparenently there was limited to no insulation in the 2010 models, but more and upgraded R7 insulation added to all panels

The upgraded bumper is a dealer option, I will probably add the torsion/sway bars myself, the rubber under guard is a dealer option as well.  I heard the radio add on was $100.

I am goign to the RV show in Novi, Michigan this weekend to see whats available.  I know not to buy or take possesion until 3 weeks before we go camping next week.  with 3 month warranty, I do not want to take any chances.

So increasing BTU's decrease condensation?

If my 14rk this summer, when it was over 100 degrees out stayed frosty cold inside with my ac on , I would say my 2010 had good insulation.

OK… went to trailer show.  There was no 19BH, but I did get to go into the 16 and 14 models.

Here is some additional issues I am concerned about.

-  the inside height is very low.  I am 6ft tall and allmost hit the inside roof… in the shower, my head does hit the roof and I have to bend down.

-  there are no monitors for black/grey/ fresh water tanks.  I asked about getting installed, but dealer said it might cost too much and not worth it.

-  the ground clearance is definately not enough, but hearing about the Dexter Axle Over/Under Flip kit sounds like it would improve the issue… By doing this, does it void any warranty?

I am asking for pricing to include:  add-a-room, larger propane tank, re-inforced bumper and bike rike with spare tire mount on back, stereo option, single sway bar, and axle over/under flip kit… all installed.

The manufacturer's rep that was in the showroom the day we picked ours up said the axle flip would indeed invalidate the warranty.  And I remember it being more than 3 months – I'm thinking it was 1 year, but I could definitely be wrong on that.

Is the 8000BTU AC significantly bigger than the 5000?  We could cut out the molding trim around the 5000 but if it won't fit the rest of the setting, including the discharge on the outside.

Are you serious? the Axle flip voids warranty? Crap. Isn't there some type of clause in Texas that it only does that if the warranty repair is directly related to item modified that voided warranty? In other wards the warranty would be void if you had ap roblem with the axles or spring and it was the Over/Under conversion that may have played in a role in its failer?  I mean obviously the Over Under conversion wouldn't affect say a problem with fridge, or awning, or something inside trailer.
