About a week or 2 ago I had ordered the Dexter Axle Over/Under Flip kit and finally installed it yesterday.  Did it in under 2 1/2 hours and was a snap, its supposed to be NON WELD design but honestly I'd feel more comfortable tack welding the spring perches.  Luckily I have the welding equipment to do so, but MAN OH MAN what a difference it makes. No more scratching the bump stops, etc. I even somehow bent my rear bumper on a incline.  So this was well worth the small expense.  I highly recommend everyone do it.

RubenZ, what part numbers did you order?  Please provide source ordered from.  What trailer model do you have?  I'd like to do the same.

Thanks, SmileJohn

Sure,

Its the 2-3/8″ Axle size and I have a 16BH.  The KZ has Dexter Axles so its perfect.  Here is the part number and Link. Hope Link works. But this is exactly waht I ordered.

We have had our axles flipped several weeks ago.  Because the unit is higher now, I took it over to our dealer, which is about 75 miles from us today to have our weight distributin hitch re-adjusted.  Followiing the re-adjustment and the trip home, I am more than happy with the way the 16BH tows post "flip".  I am also delighted with the added height.

We are heading from Nashville to Gulf Shores State Park for a couple of weeks on Friday.  I will let you know how things go.

We are so very happy we had our axles flipped.

About how many inches lift did the kit raise the trailer?

You gain about 4-6 inches clearance

Steve is right. I think after my measurements it came to 5″ almost exactly.  Doesn't seem like much but it actually makes a huge difference.

I picked up my 2011 14RB after having Magnum Trailers here in Austin do the spring to above the axle project, I also went ahead and had them change out the tires to 14″ carlisle tires, they painted the rust places on the bottom. This came to $588, money that should not have been spent had the designers come awake and had to live in the real world. I bought mine sight unseen and was very surprised to see the clearance "next to none". Well it is now high and dry. I can finally take it for a boondocking type camp out. We 4×4 the Colorado Jeep trails and it will now make it to our favorite free camp site at the Ghost town site of Eureka Co, just outside Silverton Co. See you there. Adios. Here is a correction, the sewer now has 12″ clearance and the rear rack has 14″, We used it last weekend and it pulled very stable.

Bye Aerbus, Yes, it was nice and big , but we will show our new Little Classic 14 many beautiful places. Lets get it on the Road, or Dirt, or?

Ya thats another thing I wish I could have switched and may do later. The axle sits too low because its not a straight design. Where the tires mount it has about a 3″ drop.  So, even though trailer is lifted, axle is still very low and would easily hit rocks etc or drag in a rutted dirt road.

Hi RubenZ ;

I just installed this kit on our 2010 14RK.  The kit was $60 delivered.

We just returned from a 6500 mile trip where I was quickly fed up with the scraping.  What forced the issue was when we bottomed out the tongue jack on an unmarked speed hump.  The tip of the jack bent so bad that we were unable to attach the skid plate or the wheel afterwards.  Back home, we cut over an inch off just to get back to round.

On our first trip, we broke the grey water drain.

We haven't towed it yet.

Thanks for the info;

John

I'll keep an eye out for you.  Will be up there too, probably arriving Friday or Saturday with my Escape.  The height and larger wheels were the main reason I chose it over the Classic.
