Does anyone have pictures of their unit after the axle flip?  I'd really like to see the difference and decide whether or not I really want to do it.  My last trip involved traversing some very uneven off road terrain and some huge hills.  I was careful and didn't run into trouble, but I did drag the jack a couple of times and one of the bumper stops another time.  If that's the worst I ever run into, I'd prefer to maintain the classic appearance of the trailer, but not at the expense having to rebuild the plumbing system.  If the apperance is still classic enough with the flip, I'd probably go ahead and do it just for the extra insurance.  Please post pictures if you've done a flip on yours.

Thanks,

Mike

I haven't done mine yet but was supposed to get a quote for it this week.  Need to follow up on that.  It's pretty much a certainty that I'm going to do it.

Thanks Bergie,

Do you have any pictures of the trailer after the flip?  I'd like to see how it sits and what the wheelwells look like with the extra clearance.

I installed this kit http://www.dexteraxle.com/inc/…..etail/1099.

It required no welding. I did it in the driveway.

You will drop the wheel 5″ lower in the wheel well and gain 5″ for the undersides of the trailer.  The axle height will be the same.

There is an older post with pics:

Suzy Q, thanks for finding that post for me.  The difference around the wheels is not as radical as I would've thought.  It actually doesn't look bad, but being able to see that skinny axle hanging way down low there does make it look a little more vulnerable.
