Since an axle flip is not an option for us because we don't like the look, i have searched far and wide for subtle solutions for the ever present threat of dragging.  at first i added the little drag wheels  to the drag bars which soften the blows to the back.  i will be faced soon with either having to replace those or go a different direction.  the other issue has always been the jack.  i believe that i have come up with the long term solution for that thanks to  buying a pro series ps1401000303 from e-trailer. first off, this was my first dealing with e-trailer, i ordered this on a Sunday about 6 pm, and it had been processed and boxed for shipment by 7pm! wow!  i did not upload pics here but they are on my Picasa page.  the original jack hung down 9″, this one 5.5″. you have to look close now to see it since it almost blends into the a-frame when up.  now on to a more permanent solution for the back.  im thinking air bag helper springs right now that i can control from the truck to give me a little height when i need it.  simple idea, but so was flight….   https://picasaweb.google.com/swoof4d

Thanks so much for sharing this. I've snagged my jack a couple of times already, once backing uphill into a campsite at night, and it's kind of scary. I'm buying one of these tomorrow morning. This is a perfect example of how valuable this forum can be. It's a shame it has gone into hibernation.

hopefully that will work for you, it has the same weight rating as the oem.  the real difference is that it winds from the top  and its a little taller which actually seems  to make it easier to operate.  fully extended, you do loose about 3 inches of travel vs. the old one but under normal conditions that should not be an issue.

as far as the forum goes,,, maybe folks are posting on the facebook site. i would not know because im sure facebook is one of the seven signsYell and i refuse to take the mark of the beast.  (well maybe thats too harsh, but im not a fan non the lessYell.)…  or they may all just be camping.  Laugh

I've dealt with e-trailer and never had an issue. As for the spring swap from under axle to over axle, I was one of the first to suggest it for clearance issues, mainly due to bottoming out the tires in the wheel wells of the trailer under compression of the springs, wearing the tire tread off prematurely. As for the jack, I hit mine once, crushed the first inch of the outer and inner tube, which I had to cut the damaged section off just to remove the jack. After repairing what was left of the old jack, I keep saying I'm going to go with an electric jack, but that has been 3 years so far and I'm still using the repaired original jack.

Hello everyone, I too was worried about this very thing. Then I saw something called Jack-E-UP.

Well I put this on before I even left the dealership. Now I never have to worry about my toungue jack because when I travel,  ''it's in my storage compartment''.  Simple, easy to install,  and easy to use, best 60 bucks I ever spent. Just might be another alternative to a bent jack. Looks pretty cool too.

Happy camping,  bobbyv
